ActionShot Tracker

ActionShot Tracker Privacy Policy (iOS)

Your content never leaves your device. We have no servers that receive your data, no accounts, and no analytics of our own. Two things leave your device, and neither includes your screenshots, text, or items:

  • a subscription status check with Apple and our purchase provider RevenueCat (section 4);
  • technical diagnostics that Google's on-device text-recognition library sends to Google (section 2).
01

1. Data the app accesses

Only content you choose:

  • Screenshots or photos you pick (Photos permission). The app reads only the images you select in the picker. Even if you grant Photos access, it does not browse or scan your library.
  • Photos you take (camera permission), for example a bill, letter or notice.
  • Text, a link, or one image you share into the app from another app (iOS Share sheet).
  • Text you paste. When you choose "Paste", the app reads the clipboard once and asks before using it. iOS may also show its own paste notice.
  • Text you type, including text you dictate with the iOS keyboard microphone. Dictation is provided by Apple's keyboard; the app itself does not request microphone access.

The app does not scan your photo library, messages, or email in the background. It has no email features and does not connect to any email account.

02

2. How it is processed

On-device only. The app uses Google ML Kit text recognition, which runs on your iPhone, plus local rules to suggest action items: the to-do, dates, amounts, and who is responsible. Nothing you add is uploaded to us or to any AI or cloud service. ML Kit does not send your images or the recognized text to Google.

What ML Kit does send to Google: like every app that uses ML Kit, it sends Google technical metrics about how the recognition feature performs. These are:

  • device information (manufacturer, model, iOS version and build, available ML hardware);
  • the app's bundle ID and version;
  • a per-installation identifier that is not intended to identify you or your device;
  • performance metrics such as latency;
  • API settings such as image format and resolution;
  • event types and error codes.

Google uses this to measure performance, debug, maintain and improve ML Kit, and to detect misuse. It may also download bug fixes and model updates. See Google's ML Kit terms and the Google Privacy Policy.

03

3. Collection and sharing

We do not collect, sell, or share your content or personal data. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs of our own; the only diagnostics are ML Kit's, described in section 2. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and the app does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt because it does no tracking. Notifications are local reminders scheduled on your device; no push token is created and no server sends notifications.

04

4. Purchases and subscriptions

ActionShot Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription: monthly, or yearly with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Apple processes all payments through your Apple ID. We never see your name, email address, or payment details.

To check whether you have Pro, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management service. RevenueCat receives:

  • A random anonymous app user ID that the RevenueCat SDK generates and stores on your device (it starts with $RCAnonymousID:). The app does not create an account, ask for your name or email, or send any other identifier.
  • Your purchase history from Apple: product, purchase and expiry dates, renewal and trial status, and transaction data. RevenueCat uses this to validate purchases and unlock Pro.
  • Your locale and currency code (not your location), plus basic technical information such as device type and operating system.

The app does not turn on RevenueCat's optional collection of device identifiers (advertising ID, vendor ID, or IP address as a stored attribute), and sends no customer attributes. Like any web service, RevenueCat's servers see the network address of each request. RevenueCat receives none of your screenshots, photos, text, or items. RevenueCat's privacy policy.

To cancel or manage a subscription, go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone.

05

5. Third parties

  • Apple App Store (distribution, payments, and subscriptions)
  • Google ML Kit (on-device text recognition; sends the technical metrics described in section 2)
  • RevenueCat (subscription status, as described in section 4)
06

6. Storage, retention and deletion

Your items, the text taken from your screenshots, and references to the images you added are stored only in the app's private storage on your device until you delete them. We keep no copy.

  • Delete individual items in the app.
  • Delete the app to erase all of its data from the device.
  • Like most iOS apps, the app's data may be included in your own iCloud Backup or computer backup, depending on your iOS settings. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple; we cannot access them. If you restore your iPhone from such a backup, the app's data may come back.
  • There is no cloud sync. Reinstalling the app without restoring a backup starts empty.

Subscription records: Apple keeps your purchase records under Apple's privacy policy. To have your RevenueCat record deleted, email us (section 10) with the Apple order ID from your App Store receipt email or your Apple purchase history. We will find and delete that record, which removes your purchase history from RevenueCat. Deleting the record does not cancel an active subscription; cancel it in your iPhone settings first. ML Kit metrics are held by Google under the Google Privacy Policy.

07

7. Permissions

  • Camera: only when you choose to take a photo, to read dates and next steps from it.
  • Photos: only the screenshots or photos you pick, for the same purpose.
  • Notifications: to remind you about items you are tracking. The app asks the first time you start tracking, or from Settings.

You can change these anytime in iOS Settings > ActionShot. The app still works without them: you can paste or type instead. Without notifications you won't get reminders.

08

8. Security

Your content is protected by the iOS app sandbox and never leaves your device. The only network traffic is the subscription check (Apple, RevenueCat) and ML Kit's technical metrics and updates (Google), all over encrypted connections.

09

9. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

10

10. Changes and contact

Updates will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app first.
